She’s Still Me.
I love to dust off old photo albums and take a look at my first couple years in the world. It’s especially healing for me when I’m feeling lost in it.
I look at these photos and see a little girl with magic in her eyes. She’s pleasant and sweet. She finds security in the stuffed animal that she carries with her at all times. She’s unbothered and easy going. There’s something special about her.
There’s photos of her posing with her favorite Barbies. She spends hours changing their outfits until they’re perfectly dressed. She’s decked out in handmade plastic jewelry from head to toe. Headbands, anklets, rings, you name it. She’s covered in paint. She’s always coloring. She’s front and center in flashy sequin costumes at her dance recitals. The Disney Princess Sing-ALong CD is her favorite. She spends hours in the pool and pretends she’s The Little Mermaid at the beach. Theres photos of her grinning ear-to-ear on the beach.
